DAY ONE
Morning - Finalize course paper work; Introductions; Begin interactive lecture on The Suspension Theory of Hoof Dynamics, the Science of Applied Equine Podiatry, and Functional Anatomy of the Equine Foot.
Afternoon - Continuation of interactive lecture, including coverage of The HPT Model, The HPT Method, and the Spectrum of Usability.
DAY TWO
Morning - Functional anatomy of the Equine Distal Limb explained and demonstrated through dissection.
Afternoon - Preparation of cadaver feet for trimming; Student application of the Spectrum of Usability to evaluate cadaver feet; Tool distribution and initial discussion of tool safety and correct tool use.
DAY THREE
Morning - Step-by-step explanation and interactive demonstration of correct tool use in preparation for applying the HPT Method.
Afternoon - Student application of the HPT Method to cadaver feet, with explanation and discussion of environmental influences on the equine foot.
Tuition
Tuition for 3-Day Course: $375 includes the following tools:
Specialty hoof knife, rasp and rasp handle best designed
to apply the HPT Method.
$150 deposit, with balance of $225 paid 60 days prior to course date. Rates for courses held outside the U.S.
